Create a beautifully unique table runner made with vibrant African wax fabrics and give back to a community in Rwanda, Africa. The Ubushobozi is a women's cooperative that teaches young girls the skills they need to be successful and provide income for their families. Ubushobozi means power and ability. Purchasing this kit helps benefit the Ubushobozi Collective.
This pieced table runner kit contains a pattern and Authentic African Prints for the top and binding, including precut 5" squares, by the Ubushobozi Women's Collective. The wax prints are a form of non-verbal communication among African women. Each print has meaning and they are used in many of their cultural celebrations and have become collectible.
Backing sold separately, 1 1/2 yards needed. We recommend Kona Cotton Jet Black yardage.
The hand dyed cotton fabrics included in this kit are stiff due to the manufacturing process of the cloth. After you have made your project, machine wash it in cold water on gentle cycle and dry on a delicate setting or air dry. The fabrics will soften and the waxy sheen will dissipate.

Ubushobozi Table Runner Kit

Beautiful! I look forward to making it for a cousin and her husband. Her husband spent a good many of his growing up years in Africa when his parents were missionaries there. I thought they would enjoy having this table runner.

African Table Topper

I wanted it for the African fabric. Our Mission Committee at church is funding a church in Africa, and they

needed something "authentic" to decorate the exhibit. I had already made the quilt and now the table

runner. If it is possible too have some yardages on hand for people for decor or quilt making or another

take on great colors, it would be great to have a place to go to and find that kind of fabric.

Also, I want to know where I can get Liberty fabrics. Especially for hexies.

So colorful with unusual patterns

I love supporting the Ubushobozi women. This is my second table runner from them. I am waiting for the quilt to be available again. Maybe one day we can buy the fabric by the yard.
