Research Projects Funded by the MPI FoundationA very interesting project has been presented to us. The MPI foundation is funding research projects that are perfect for the Meeting Architecture community. The research project we are most interested in concerns Meeting Design. Project Meeting Architecture is considering coordinating a team of subject matter experts and making a proposal. I believe that Project Meeting Architecture (www.meetingarchitecture.org) and its on line communities (almost 1,100 members) is the only current consortium of it’s kind. We believe that success with this project is likely with the collaboration of all our individual experts and friends.
Adrian Segar, a member of our community and the author of Conferences That Work: Creating Events That People Love, already told me:
"I am very interested in working with you to submit a proposal.' Ruud Janssen, TNOC sais “Happy to help in creating the Slide Deck and educational session content + instructional videos." John Nawn of The Perfect Meeting states “I’d like to be involved in this exciting project.” This is in fact a project exactly as envisaged in the MA Manifesto (http://www.meetingarchitecture.org/content/meeting-architecture-paper) whereby the existing industry associations provide funding (instead of PMA to compete for funds) and PMA develop educational modules for the associations to bring to market through their established channels.
To compose a great and global team, we invite you to let us know if you are interested in being part of this project. Your role will vary depending on your background, interests and expertise. Know that your involvement in this project will also be considered for influencing future developments of Project Meeting Architecture. To find good cases for the case studies that are part of this project, we need your urgent suggestions on meeting or events that you consider good practice examples. These should take place in April or May (maybe even June) 2011. Read the details below and send me a reply to one or both of these needs by January 12. If you feel you can help with the project we need: a. Your name and e-mail address.
b. A brief description (eg 250 characters) of your expertise.
c. A brief description (eg 250 characters) of what you can contribute as far as time, tasks, etc. is concerned.
If you would like to propose a case we need: a. Your name and e-mail address.
b. A brief description of the project (size, dates, place, kind of meeting…).
c. A brief description of why you feel this is a good case for the study.
I look forward to your candidacy and/or your case.
Kind regards,
Maarten Vanneste, CMM
